Promoting Race & Class Equity in CSD Curricula

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This live webinar course, using a Critical Race Theory (CRT) framework, is designed for post-secondary faculty and staff in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) programs and supports educators in identifying implicit and explicit race and class biases as they relate to CSD instruction and learning. With a focus on culturally responsive pedagogy, the course will guide educators in developing content and instruction that is inclusive to a diverse student body and that more adequately prepares students for provision of equitable services for diverse populations.

Creating Culturally Sustaining Content in CSD Courses

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This live webinar course, participants explore four levels of racism and critically review their own course content for inclusivity.  Strategies to promote student understanding and consideration of the social determinants of health for service delivery.  Finally attendees outline and learn to implement culturally sustaining pedagogical practices.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This live event gives post-secondary students the opportunity to discuss equity issues with panelists who work in a variety of roles across the fields of communication sciences, education, healthcare and more.  This session is offered for a donation of any amount for a limited number of times per annum.  Please contact us for more details.
